If someone takes the Amtrak to Seattle Wa, what is the best way to get to BC?

One Step Ahead asked:

My friend is going on a cruise that leave from BC. She will take the Amtrak to Seattle, Washington. Is there a bus, van, or train that will take her to the cruise port in BC? The cruise is going to Alaska.

If you rent a car in Seattle can you leave it in BC? How long would it take to drive from Seattle to BC?

It only takes about about 2.5 hours to get from Seattle to BC. I’m not sure about leaving the rental car there; the last time I had to travel between the two cities I took the bus.

amtrak travels to vancouver bc. that would probably be cheaper then renting a car then take a cab to the port if it isnt too far away.

Just stay on Amtrak and it will take you to Vancouver, BC and then take a cab from the train depot in BC to the cruise port. Easy.
