There are several cruise lines that run to Alaska and they take different routes. Some leave from Seattle and others depart from from Vancouver, Canada. Some do a round trip and you only see southeast Alaska & Canada both coming and going while others do a one-way trip to Alaska and you book a flight to return to your departure port or go home.
If they are interested in seeing the Glaciers, they will definitely want to go on a ship that goes to Glacier Bay.
Here’s a link to a website where you can see a list of all of the ships and compare prices and itineraries:

Well, most cruises that go to Alaska leave from the west coast.
So you would probably have to fly anyway.
I suggest going on the Norwegian Star, leaving from Seattle.
I went on it a couple years ago, and it was AMAZING.

I know that Princess is one of the leaders on cruises to Alaska. If you do a cruise/tour, they even own there own lodges in 3 different places. Then the train takes you right to the port. I have done one of these cruises and next year hope to take my whole family back to Alaska. The thing to know is, August is like a couple of weeks away now and you have to book now. What may be left may not be the best cabins, but check vacations to go for last minute deals.

Princess Cruise Line is the most popular cruise that is going to Alaska. Here is where you can see for yourself click the “Cruises” tab at the top and proceed from there.
I hope they enjoy themselves!!!!
