The Northern Lights are seen in late fall. Much farther inland. Many go near Fairbanks, Alaska.
Sorry.
Enjoy your cruise.

You can only see those during the winter, but one thing that is cool is it will still be light out most of the night during the summer so you have to look at your watch to know when its time to go to bed, either that or stay up all night.

NO!! You will not be able to see the “northern lights” regardless of when you go on your cruise. The northern lights can only be seen during the winter months and none of the cruise lines have cruises during the winter season. The cruise season in Alaska is mid-May through mid-September, ONLY.
In addition, during the cruise season it never gets dark enough for you to see the northern lights. There will be about 20 hours of daylight during the summer months. Daylight starts about 5:00 AM and it does not start to get dark until about midnight.
So, its not the place that you have to be in but the time of year that you have to go to see the northern lights.
