Cruise question?

Princess Jasmine asked:

Hi There,
I live in Vancouver and have question regarding cruises. We are planning to go on a cruise on November. The only cruise that departs at that time from Vancouver is Alaska… isn’t too cold to go to Alaska at that time? also considering airfare cost what other port and destination you recommend?
thanks

Mexican Riviera out of LA, San Fransisco, or San Diego on Princess or Holland America.

You CANNOT cruise to Alaska in November because the Alaska cruise season is mid-may through mid-September only.

Your best bet would be Los Angeles or San Diego for a cruise to the Mexican Rivera, the Panama Canal, or Hawaii.

Here are links to those cruise ports:

that is probably too cold, plus it would probably be dark in the winter….i would recommend going to Hawai, South America, Mexico, or the Caribbean, so it would be warmer. you could drive to the cruise port so the airfare wouldn’t cost as much, although we always fly. If you drove, it would take a lot longer. Also, I recommend if you want to go with the best cruise line, go with Royal Caribbean.

It depends on what you want from your cruise, certainly if you want warm weather at that time of year Alaska is not the place to go but if you are willing to wrap up warm and want to see stunning scenery then Alaska fits the bill.
As you live in Vancouver you will get a cruise for a real good price, as you don’t need to travel and book hotels etc:
Have a look at a cruise to the Caribbean, add the cost of the airfares to Miami or whatever and you will see what a deal you could get going to Alaska.
I’m going to Alaska for the first time in July but I have been in contact with a guy from Vancouver who has been 15 times to Alaska and there is a guy who answers in this category who has been 23 times to Alaska, so it must have something going for it, even if it isn’t so warm.
