dianah asked:
And, do most cruises, like after it’s finished, do they have packages where you can go to the inner cities of Alaska? I would like to see Fairbanks to try to catch the Northern Lights as well. Or do most cruise packages only stick to the edge of the state?

1. No such thing as a bad cruise to Alaska
2. Look for cruise package that offer a “land tour”. This will generally give you a week on the coast and then a week in the interior. Most cruise lines offer some some combo deals (sea/land).
3. Northern lights are best seen from September to October and from March to April - so you’ll want to find a cruise during these months.

Totally! The one by Carnival is awesome! It takes you through the Inside Passage and after it’s over, they do have packages where you can stay in a resort for another week and you can visit the inner cities.

What you are looking for is a cruise/tour. The # 1 cruise line to Alaska is Princess. Try Princess.com or call 1-800-Princess. They are having a big sale now. They have different itineraries that you have cruise first then do a land tour. May & Sept. offer the best rates and you still get to see all the Wildlife. Denali is Amazing. In Fairbanks take the stern wheeler cruise(included in your cruise/tour) you go to native Indian village and see how they once lived and some of the animals. You can not go wrong with a cruise tour there. I have done over 20 & 4 more this year.
As stated the Northern Lights are in the fall near Fairbanks.
